Bauer on same-sex marriage ban: "Some people don't have enough to do"

Encouraging words from the Indiana House leadership, as the Senate passed the latest version of a same-sex marriage ban yesterday. Quoth the Bauer:

House Speaker B. Patrick Bauer, D-South Bend, said the amendment is unlikely to receive a hearing this year, arguing the state's trial and appeals courts have upheld Indiana's marriage law.
"It's the same old song," Bauer said. "Some people don't have enough to do creating jobs and moving this economy forward, so they think up divisive things."

Amen.

feel sorry for his wife and the family. Having known them from White County, they were good people. Too bad Buyer himself was such an arrogant bastard.

According to Indiana Code 31-11-1-1

IC 31-11-1-1:
Same sex marriages prohibited:
Sec. 1. (a) Only a female may marry a male. Only a male may marry a female.
(b) A marriage between persons of the same gender is void in Indiana even if the marriage is lawful in the place where it is solemnized.

For far to long, many conservatives have been advocating for a same sex marriage law, when as you can plainly see ...one already exists! It spells out in plain English that only a woman and man may marry! I would have to agree with Speaker Bauer on this issue, Conservatives, Republicans, and those in the TEA Party have way to much time on their hands.

I still wonder if the crazies in the Teabagging movement have ever caught on to the street slang meaning of "teabagging". It was in use long before they came along. With so many sex scandals among their leaders, they may have intentionally chosen that word.
